Mine is POOR as it's all I can get here and took all day to install. If you have a fast internet connection you'll have no issues. (program - I hate calling it a game) to me it's a guitar lesson program).

I don't like it nearly as much, but you can get some free things from it as you advance in the game.
"uPLAY" I could live without, and kinda duplicates what STEAM does in a different way. STEAM is a must and I enjoy it more than the program - (or as much) as we can share and talk about the program. (again MORE CONFUSION but if you have the patience to work through it. I spent around 130.00 just on new songs, RS1 and the import tool. Also all of the older songs were 50% off.

They had a sale for black friday that allowed us to buy RS1 (must own to download older RS1 songs) for 14.99. The solution is to buy downloadable content from STEAM.
(because the SHOP "buy new DLC" option in the game will no longer connect to the UBI server. In fact most of us wouln'dt be able to download more songs without it. I also after being totally confused about steam - now understand it by using it and I LOVE STEAM.

I just read above that the PC/MAC version doesn't even install a MAC version and it has to be downloaded? Isn't that absurd? They assume when someone spends 79.00 on a DVD data disc that the buyer has internet? I read I had to download 5 gigs to install the game on Mac? no wonder it took all day to install. A 2 cent piece of paper explaining what is going on would have helped a great deal. The problems above are mainly because there was no instruction at all. Well it's been 3 weeks - and despite some issues - I recommend it highly. I just can't recommend anyone buy this mess until things are clarified.

dat files just dat files? why would they be different for PC and Mac? What they hell can't I download songs that are listed in the 2013 menu under SHOP? But with this background I don't know what the hell is going on and why this RS 2014 is so dang confusing. Programmed, owned them all and even beta tested some of the best of them over the decades.

( I THINK IT MEANS FOR WINDOWS ?) I've been a gamer since 1980. I Click - REDEEM - says "I got it" huh? got what where? I click it again because it says REDEEM and says I don't own the game. I see something that says FREE CONTENT FOR SINGLE PLAYER (40U) credits. I then go down and there is some "U" credits? (what the heck is all this?) shows some desktop wall paper for 10 U credits? and some other stuff. (the button depresses) but nothing changes. To the right it says OTHER PLATFORMS, so I click the mac. HUH? I'm on a Mac, it's installed on my Mac. (well on Mac yes) I look at Rock smith 2014 in the account and it says I have PC DVD platform. It says I own Rocksmith 2014 as my only UBI game. Looking for answers - I log in SOMEWHERE for support - I see an avatar (I think it was the UPLAY?) I have no idea what this is - but I'm there. I don't I have RS 2014) it say comparable and I see it listed under SHOP. (ok I do) I go back and through it says PC - It won't check out. I look back in SHOP and it says "originally this song is for RockSmith1 but it's compatible with 2014! you must have latest 2014. (RS 2014) I pick two and it takes me ? SOMEWHERE? I THINK STEAM - I place them in my cart even though they say "WIN" with win icon. I shop for them in by the SHOP menu in the game. (A bit weak in the lessons - the games don't seem to apply toward the song being learned, chord lesson is generic - not chords of that song) but no worries. I play with the game and as a 10 year guitar player I find it fun and interesting. Ok, I assume it downloads in the background. (no word of where to get it - it's not there?) LATER it just appears. I get it installed and am confused by STEAM? to make things more confusing, there is a UPLAY? and a UBIsomething (which I think I'm on now) every time I click something or go somewhere I seem to be in some new and strange land. It wants to download things and updates that literally took ALL DAY (I live in woods on a lake and have slow/poor net connection (3G cell)Īnyway - no docs came with, but hell - I use to be a paid beta tester for activation (PC games) and I can handle it right? My pc's are downstairs and I prefer the mac which is upstairs and installed on it. I bought it from Amazon (for Mac - but comes with PC and MAC) versions. Welcome to the MAD HOUSE that is called RS 2014.
